Here are some shots from the Open House we held yesterday. We had some parts on display, both from our own stock and also from our suppliers Ohlins, Akrapovic and Performance Friction Brakes. Ohlins showed the first production units of their new Road & Track dampers for GT-R, which was a world premiere. Two gearboxes were on display so we could show customers the problems and solutions we offer. During the day we performed different work on some customer cars. We installed Alcon 400mm brakes, COBB Accessports, replaced a damaged oil pan and did some oil changes among other work. When it was done we served some burgers, hot dogs and cold drinks.
We´d like to thank all of our customers and suppliers that joined us on this day.

Yes, even before we´ve held the event, our Open House is a success! At the moment we have 18 cars that will participate, making this the biggest GT-R meet in Scandinavia by far! Our customers are coming all the way from Luleå in the north of Sweden down to Trelleborg in the far south. We´re really happy that so many will show up, even though many of our long time customers can´t make it.

Two companies will show their products during the day. First is Öhlins who will show the prototypes for their Road & Track coilovers for GT-R that they will start producing this summer.

Secondly it´s PEAN Sweden that will show brake upgrades and Akrapovic exhaust systems.

Mr R picked up his brand new 2011 GT-R just a couple of weeks ago. He´s already covered over 6000kms in it and enjoyed every minute. Now he´s at 23GTR.se to get a better sound in the car. He choose to have a HKS Legamax midpipe and catback installed. With the midpipe without silencer, the car now sounds as it should have from the factory. Mr R is very happy and so are we. We welcome all customers to our open house on Saturday May 12th! No matter if you´re a long time customer or have never been here, you´re all welcome. We´ll have a special price on oil change during the day. So if you want to get your GT-R ready for spring, now is an excellent time to get it done. Yes, Mr. K is back for more upgrades. Since he did 15 trackdays last year, the front brake discs couldn´t take it any more. The OEM discs are prone to crack so we replaced them with some 400mm Alcon discs instead. We replaced the brake pads before so now Mr. K should be able to cut his lap times a bit. While the car was here we also installed some carbon goodies from Zele Performance. The sideskirts, fender vents and bonnet scoops were replaced. It really looks good with the blue colour of the car. Mr M is a long time customer of 23GTR.se. This time he wanted to make the car even faster on track. Therefore we´ve replaced the swaybars, the front upper suspension arms and added some more power. We swapped out the OEM downpipes and midpipe to free up some flow for the tune. We choose a HKS Legamax resonated midpipe to still keep the noise level in check. Interior wise we installed a carbon bucket seat and Takata 4 point harnesses for both the driver and passenger. Mr M also wanted to upgrade the looks of the car so we installed a set of Zele sideskirts. After a service and a tune he´s ready to hit the tracks, beginning at the Nurburgring in April. Mr. S is a long time customer of ours. We´ve done a lot of work on his car, but this time he wanted us to install front and rear cameras. So, yesterday we did just that and below you can see some pics of what the kit looks like, what the images on the MFD and the installation looks like. The first pic that shows the view is of the rear camera and the second is of the front. If you want cameras on your car, drop us a mail and we´ll hook you up.

As most GT-R owners are aware by now, the gearbox is the weakest link in the car. And as you´ve seen before, we´ve done a lot of different work on these boxes by now. Here are a few more examples of the problems we´ve seen, and the solutions we´ve used.

The first pic shows a broken synchro ring on the left, a fully working OEM ring in the middle and an upgraded one from Dodson Motorsport on the right. What you need to look for on the left one are the missing stop teeth. That´s the weak part on these rings and you can also see the difference in design on the Dodson ring.

The next three pictures show what it looks like when a circlip comes loose. You can see the damaged shaft, the amount of metal debris on the magnets and the loose circlip that was found in the box. This is not uncommon so we highly recommend replacing the circlips if you do any gearbox work. We recommend it even if you´re not running high power in your GT-R. These failures were on cars that ran maximum stage 1 tuning.

This video was posted today on the Drive network. Matt Farah drives the Switzer E900 GT-R. The car looks bone stock on the outside but will outrun a Bugatti Veyron on the quarter mile. See what Matt thought about it and if you feel the itch and want one yourself, drop us a mail.

Here are a few pics of the Whiteline swaybars we´ve used both on the democar but also on customer cars. They are a very nice addition if you run your car on track. You can see the difference in thickness compared to the OEM ones. The price is very reasonable considering the effect it has on the performance of the car. If you want a set, drop us a mail.

We installed this carbon add-on wing from Mine´s on a customer car long ago, but never posted the pics. Anyway, better late than never. This is not a complete wing. It just adds on top and around the OEM wing. The carbon is thinner than one would think is possible and the finish is just as always with Mine´s parts: Perfect! Here are more pics of some of the gearbox work we´ve done. This time it´s a FWD clutch housing that´s broken. To repair it, we use the upgraded Dodson housing which is heavy duty compared to the OEM. There is also a pic that shows the input shaft to the FWD clutch. The clutches have burnt and stuck to each other. That caused the shaft to twist and then the housing broke. The last a pic shows the difference between an OEM broken clutch basket and a new Dodson one. You can clearly see the difference in material thickness.

In the previous post we showed you how we replaced the wheels on Mr K´s GT-R. That´s not the only work we´ve done to his car. Two sets of Takata 4-point harnesses, a HKS Legamax stainless exhaust and a COBB Accessport also found its way into the car. Here are some pics to show what was done. Mr K was so pleased with the result that he´ll be back when spring comes to get more work done. Remember, we do everything on these cars so don´t hesitate to get in touch.

We´ve done some work on Mr. K´s car and in the early autumn we upgraded it with a set of Volk Racing G2. We choose to use the Toyo R888 on the wheels, since Mr K uses the car on track. Not only the customer is happy. We think it looks great as well. Even if they look silver in the pics, they´re Titanium. If you want a new set of wheels for your GT-R, just get in touch.

A customer of ours saw the work we did with Thomas GT-R, where we installed a set of special Recaro leather seats, and decided he wanted the same type of seats in his Porsche Turbo. He choose to have a mix of leather and alcantara. Well, here is the result. Both the customer and we are very happy. If you need parts for your Porsche, don´t hesitate to contact us. We´ve just had a visit from Glenn from Dodson Motorsport. He´s given us some training on the gearboxes so now we´re authorized Pro Dealer for Dodson Motorsport! The only one in Scandinavia! If you want to make your GR6 box stronger, perform better or just make an overhaul, don´t hesitate to get in touch with us. There´s tons of stuff that can be done to make the box work better, last longer and run smoother.

One of our customers that bought a set of BBS Challenge R wheels have added a nice touch to his car. First he got some matte black vinyl on  it and then he got some orange/gold colored vinyl on the edge of the rims that match the color of the brake calipers. Last week we did the first job on the second generation GT-R. It was a black 2011 (US 2012) Black Edition. We replaced the exhaust with a GTC Titan exhaust and the front brake pads with Carbonetic R-spec items. Mr S will be back later for more upgrades since he´s been bitten by the tuning bug. All the sales back in January had to turn into physical work at some point. Last week some of the cars were gathered so we didn´t want to miss the opportunity to take a couple of pictures. Even though you can´t see it in the pictures, this is a good example of all the different work we do. It ranges from a simple stage 1 tune with exhaust and COBB Accessport through the mighty P800 Package from Switzer to gearbox upgrades and repairs aswell as brake upgrades. As we wrote in the last post, we sold two P800 packages in January. One is aready installed and the other one will be done during April. As you can see in the pics below, the first car also got a new set of pistons and rods. In this car we used Mahle pistons and Carillo rods. The detail and quality of both these parts are extremely high. As usual when a P800 is installed, there´s also a cooling package to keep the temps in check. The radiator and intercoolers are as big as possibly can fit into the car. We also installed a set of AP Racing brake discs in the front.

We´re VERY proud to announce that we did an all time high in January with no less than two P800 orders along with all the other parts sold! This clearly shows that our customers value the work we´re doing.

Below is a picture of the status as it was in January in the workshop. The red car got a new set of pistons and rods aswell as a new set of turbos. It will be running E85 and the goal is to have somewhere in the region of 800-900hp. The silver car is having a problem with the transmission and the black one was an insurance job. Another car that´s not in this pic is getting a Switzer P800 installed. More on that in a later post. You might ask yourself what´s new about our red democar? It´s still in the workshop as you can see, but since we have so much work with customer cars, there are no news to report about it. More info on that car in a while, so check back.

A customer of ours have ordered a set of BBS Challenge-R wheels from us so he wants to sell his current extra set of wheels. They´re a set of OZ Botticelli III. They´re used but in good condition. The tires are a set of Bridgestone summer tires and they have around 5-6mm left on them. Just to clarify, there´s no rubbing with these wheels mounted. We´ve been doing transmission repairs and upgrades for over a year now and we are both Dodson Motorsport and Willall Racing dealers. We can do any upgrade or repair you might want to have done, so don´t hesitate to contact us. Needless to say, we also have a Nissan Consult III diagnostic tool so we can do all of the necessary adjustments and diagnotics. Here are just a few examples of the work we´ve done to customer cars.

The last time we went to Poland for GT Polonia was back in 2006. A lot has happened since then. We´ve replaced the R34 GT-R V-spec with a R35 GT-R and as you probably know, it´s been heavily tuned. Well, this year we were back among the wild and crazy party people in Poznan. And what a blast it was! Not only for the nice track driving, but for the parties, the nice dinners and all the awesome people! Here are some pics from the event.

Today I went to Stockholm to install a set of Recaro leather seats in a customers GT-R. The model is called Recaro Profi SPG XL. You can see the result below. Fredrik is a long time customer of ours. We worked and serviced his old GT-R last year. This year, he bought a new EDM GT-R and he soon turned to us to get some work done. We installed a set of Zele Performance carbon side skirts, a Harman Motive midpipe and also supplied a set of AP Racing J-hook brake discs and Carbotech pads. Here are two pics of the result:

Both our democar and a few customer cars have been fitted with a HKS Legamax exhaust from the downpipes and back. This includes a muffled midpipe and a catback system. We choose to use the Legamax due to the low noice level. There´s a 95dB noice limit on Swedish tracks so we needed a quiet exhaust. We´ve done some work on Thomas old GT-R but this year he bought a brand new EDM car and he turned to us again to get some work done. Mikael Persbrandt is one of Swedens most famous actors. He´s also a real petrolhead and swapped his GT3 for a GT-R last year. The truth is he never looked back. We first met Mikael last year at the Nurburgring and had a great time. Now the time has come for his GT-R to get a bit of 23GTR.se´s touch. We supplied his car with some carbon goodies and a tail light kit from Zele Performance. It´s the same parts we have on our democar with a few additions. Paul, a good friend of 23gtr.se and I met up with Dan, a photographer, after a minimeet in Stockholm the other week. We were also joined by the new owner of our old democar, a Bayside Blue R34 GT-R V-spec UK and another owner of a R34 GT-R V-spec. Due to bad weather there were only two decent shots that came out of roughly one hour of shooting. The result however is very, very good. Enjoy!
