This car came into the shop with a broken gearbox. It´s 5th gear that´s given up and needs replacing. We just want to point out that we haven´t done any work on the car before it came in with this problem. For those that wants to know, the car is not stock. It´s got a GT800 kit from HKS installed. The gearbox was simply not upgraded enough to handle the power and torque. Since we are Dodson Pro Dealer, we´ll make sure it´s stronger than ever after we´ve upgraded it.
This is the first time we´ve lowered a GT-R this much. The customer wanted it as low as possible and with the KW Sleeve kit we installed, this is the result. We also installed a set of AP Racing J-hook brake discs up front and some Carbonetic pads. If you want some parts or some work done, get in touch.
One of our customers had a small “racing incident” and went off the track at a recent event. Both the car and driver are fine but we had to remove a lot of Leca balls from the under trays of the car. Not a job we do every day fortunately.
Last year we had 11 GT-Rs at once outside the workshop during our Open House. This year we beat that by a mile! On Saturday May the 4th, we had 20 GT-Rs at the workshop during this years Open House! We´d like to thank everyone that showed up and made this an historic event! We´re already thinking what we can do next to top this. Among the cars were one AMS Alpha 9 and two Switzer P800. All built by us at 23GTR.se. Here are some pics from the day.
Since we got the car, we´ve upgraded the gearbox with our stage 1 kit. We´ve also installed the Ohlins Road&Track coilovers and removed the engine to prepare it for the Switzer P800 package. We´re also working on the gearbox cooler which might be the best solution we´ve seen of all the different types we´ve installed over the years. Here are some pictures that show what we´ve been up to.
This is a special project for us. A customer from Norway called and wanted us to modify a GT-R that will be used heavily on track. The customer didn´t even have the car when we first spoke. Within a week after first contact, he had bought a brand new 2012 GT-R and we had it in the shop. Now the modifications will begin. They will include:
* Switzer P800 package
* Öhlins Road&Track coilovers
* Carbon fiber Recaro seats
* AP Racing brake discs
* Heigo roll cage
* Whiteline sway bars
* Dodson adjustable front upper arms
* Akrapovic titanium exhaust system
* Greddy gearbox cooler
* 23GTR stage 1 gearbox upgrade with Dodson parts
* Schroth 4 point harnesses
Stay tuned for more updates about this car. Here it is before the modifications started.
We thought things would return to normal after Easter but we´re still crazy busy and will be until at least the middle of May. Below is a pic that shows what it looked like outside the shop last week. We also had two black GT-R´s in the shop that´s not in the pic. The pic with the keys shows the keys to 6 of the 8 GT-R´s we had in the shop the week before Easter.
This time the customer wanted our stage 1 upgrade and also added a first gear kit and a stronger shift fork. The stage 1 kit consists of Gear Lock, Mechanical circlips 1 and 2, additional magnets for the oil tray, oil pump upgrade, better oil and a clean of the solenoid pack. This is a very good investment to make sure the circlips won´t fall off and cause damage to the box. Get in touch if you want us to upgrade the gearbox in your GT-R.
We can now offer complete interiors for your GT-R. As you can see from the pics below anything can be redone. In this car everything was done in Alcantara and completed with some carbon fiber parts. If you feel like upgrading your interior, send us a mail.
As we wrote in a previous post, Mr. P-O´s GT-R will become more track focused this year. In that post we showed you the Öhlins Road & Track coilovers, the Whiteline suspension parts, the GTNET steering wheel and the AP Racing front brakes. The rest of the parts we ordered have arrived and they are the Meisterschaft catback exhaust, Password JDM dry carbon trunk, rear wing and induction snorkels. With these parts installed, we´re sure P-O will not only enjoy his car more but also set some nice times on the track. Drop us a mail if you want some parts for your GT-R.
It´s a known problem that the steering lock module can seize to work. When it happens you´re stranded since your GT-R won´t start when it happens. Our solution is to remove the steering lock module and replace it with a box that connects to the OEM electrical connector. The only downside to our solution is that you won´t have any steering lock anymore, but then you won´t risk being stranded if it should fail. Below you can see our solution and an OEM steering lock module. If you want to buy one of these, just send us a mail. We have them in stock since we know how frustrating it is when the OEM module fails.
Auto Tecknics parts are a new addition in our lineup for the GT-R. They make carbon parts and now also the shift paddles you can see in the pics below. They are available in three different colors and you can also get the + and – pinstriped to a contrasting color if you´d like. Have a look at the pics and if you feel the itch to get some for your car, just send us a mail.

And just like last year we have a special offer on oil change. The normal price is 2,100SEK but if you choose to do it during our Open House the price is 1,800SEK. Please let us know in advance if you want this work done.
We welcome all old and new customers!
This is what it looked like last year. We hope we´ll get at least as many visitors this year.
We´re proud to have been appointed dealers for Meisterschaft exhaust systems. We´ve already installed a few of them and we really like the quality and fitment. If you want a really LOUD exhaust, then Meisterschaft is what you want. It will give your car that growl that it´s missing in stock form. Below are some pics of the GT-R exhaust. Meisterschaft make exhausts for a number of other cars, such as Audi, BMW, Porsche, Bentley and Aston Martin to name just a few. Drop us a mail if you´re interested in getting a Meisterschaft exhaust for your car.
We got a phone call from one of our P800 customers today. He was a bit excited to say the least. He was out driving when he happened to be on an empty section of dry and flat tarmac and had his Driftbox available. He thought, why not try it out and see what numbers come up? So, he floored it from 80km/h in third gear and measured 100-200km/h and also 100-250km/h. The result? The best numbers we´ve seen in Scandinavia! The temperature plays a big part here since it was around 0 deg C outside, but non the less, the result is great. Remember, he was using winter tires as well. In fact, the 100-250 run is faster than what a German magazine measured an AMS Alpha 9 to recently. Below is the picture proof of the run. If you want some more power in your GT-R, get in touch.
Mr. P-O uses his 2012 GT-R on track a lot and he wanted to upgrade both the handling, braking and the interior. He asked us at 23GTR.se if we could help him and of course we did. We ordered a set of Ohlins coilovers and also some Whiteline bushes and swaybars to improve the handling. A new steering wheel from GTNET make the feeling a lot better when on track. He also wanted a set of braided brake hoses so we got a set from Dodson for him. To finish it off, we got him a set of AP Racing J-hook brake discs. The pics really don´t do the parts justice. We´d like to point out that with the Ohlins coilovers, not only is the handling improved on track but you get a better ride on normal bumpy roads as well. If you want some new parts for your GT-R, don´t hesitate to send us a mail.
Some time ago we were asked to help out with a Buing guide about the GT-R for Swedens biggest car magazine, Bilsport. The result was 5 pages in their latest issue, 1-2 2013. Below are the scanned pages from the mag.
Our friend and customer Robert has started a video blog where he shows different activities he does with his car. In the first episode he shows that he uses his car even in the winter. In the second video he has a famous guest driver: Samuel Hübinette, drift racer from the north of Sweden. Samuel shows how to drift the GT-R on an ice track in his hometown of Jokkmokk. The car is equipped with Lappi tires with 850 studs in each tire. All tuning of the car is done by us at 23GTR.se. If you want something done to your car, get in touch. Below are the first video blog post and a clip (in Swedish) from Swedish channel 4s motor program “Motorbloggen”.
Mr P had a problem that the battery got drained when the car had been standing for just a few days. We took a look at it and found that the audio unit was causing the problem. We replaced it and now the car works as it should again. Everything was covered by the insurance. Below are a few pics of the work involved. If you need some work done to your car, don´t hesitate to drop us a mail.
Rattle from the flywheel housing is a common problem on the earlier model years of GT-R. Mr M is one of our most loyal customers and he had this problem on his car. He came into the shop and we took care of it by replacing the flywheel housing with a new one. While the engine was out, he also wanted a new set of turbo intake pipes. The difference between old and new flywheel can be seen in the pic below. Also the difference between the old stock US-09 intake pipe and the new one from GTC. If you want some work done to your GT-R, just get in touch.
Mr T needed a new set of wheels for winter driving so he bought the fourth set of the limited edition BBS CH-R that we´ve sold. He installed a set of Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires on them and below is the result. If you need winter wheels for your GT-R, get in touch and we´ll arrange it for you.
When we we´re doing a gearbox upgrade on Mr. S GT-R, we realized that the rear subframe was in bad shape. It had a lot of rust on it so upon our recommendation the customer made the decision to have it repainted. Below are some before and after shots. As you can see, if nothing had been done now, the problem would soon be a lot worse. We´ve seen this problem on an increasing number of cars and it gets a lot worse when the car has been driven during the winter. Needless to say, all the bolts and nuts were also replaced so the rear end of the car is better than new. As you can see, we´re really doing everything on these cars.
Mr. S have been to our shop more times then I can remember. He always have new ideas to further modify his car. Here are some pics from when we installed an Akrapovic titanium exhaust with shiny tips on his car. If you want an Akrapovic exhaust on your GT-R, just get in touch and we´ll make sure your car sounds and breathes a bit better.
Mr P wanted a new carbon front splitter and a towhook. We supplied him with a Rexpeed splitter and the towhook is from MCR. As you can see from the pics below, the result is very nice. Small subtle upgrades that enhance the look of the car. If you feel the urge to get the same, get in touch.
Since the customer that bought this package unfortunately had to pull out of this amazing deal, it´s up for sale again. This is the deal of the decade so if you want big hp in your GT-R, get in touch with us to get more info. The idea behind this package is to produce a GT-R that has over 1000bhp at the wheels on E85 but still keep the cars drivability. It will be tough to reach that hp goal but we´re confident it can be done with the right mods. The pictures below show some, but not all, of the products in this kit. If you feel the need for some big hp for next season, get in touch and we´ll make sure your car is one of the fastest around.
We´re proud to sell the amazing products from Tracklab. They produce pipes for the GT-R in prepreg carbon fiber. That´s the same quality as in F1. They have both the intake pipes and the upper intercooler piping so you get a visual match when you open the bonnet. Below are some pics of their products. If you feel the need for some quality piping for your GT-R, just get in touch and we´ll hook you up.
As we´ve told you before, we can provide everything for these cars. This time when Robert came to the shop he wanted some new seat belts so he could concentrate 100% on the driving when he´s on track. He choose two sets of Takata and below is the result. Takata are now available in both the classic green but also black color. If you want some seat belts in your car, don´t hesitate to contact us.
To give you as a customer the best choice, we are a dealer for all the suppliers of gears to the GT-R gearbox. We sell parts from Dodson Motorsport in New Zeeland, Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes in Australia and Albins Off Road Gear, also in Australia. All of them are very popular in the big hp builds around the world and the differences aren´t huge but there are some. If you have a hard time deciding which to choose, just get in touch and we´ll help you make the right choice. Below are some pictures of the different 1st gear replacements from each manufacturer. From left to right, Dodson, Albins and PPG. They have of course the rest of the gears as well, this is just a small sample.
Mr J bought some a set of rims from us last year. Even though he´s only done around 4000kms in the car, he´s back for a small service and to get some more power. First we cleaned the gearbox solenoids and oil tray when we replaced the oil. Then we installed a HKS Legamax midpipe and catback exhaust. That together with a COBB Accessport released some more power. Since the injectors were maxed out we replaced those along with the intake pipes and air filters. The result is a modest power upgrade with a nicer sound and with fresh oil in the gearbox. This is just a small example of all the work we do with these cars. If you want something done, get in touch.
23GTR.se had some major representation at the airfield event at Björkvik Ring the past weekend. Everything from an almost brand new 2011 with only a midpipe to the Switzer P800 we arrived in. The two E85-converted cars were among the fastest not to forget the P800 which won all the races it ran. Below are some pictures of the cars that were present. If you want something done to your car, get in touch.
This is a unique opportunity to get your hands on probably the last new set of BBS CH-R in the world! We´ve managed to get a hold of set #27 out of 50 made. Since these wheels were made last year and they all sold within a very short time after release, this is the only way to get the last set. We´ve fitted these to a few GT-R´s now and they look stunning. Below are some pics of the set we have for sale as well as some of the ones we´ve sold before. Get in touch today to get these wheels on your GT-R!
Edited to inform that the wheels have been bought my a happy customer.
Time to bring you some news that aren´t just pics of customer cars but of parts we have in stock. Today we got a new delivery of brake discs. We now have Alcon 400mm for MY11-12 as well as AP Racing 380mm for MY08-10 and 390mm for MY11-12.
We´ve also got some Toyo R888 tyres and lets not forget the exclusive BBS CH-R wheels which is probably the last new set in the world!
When it comes to gearbox parts we stock the most common upgrade parts and of course also oil. If you want to make a simple oil service we got you covered. We stock both engine oil and filters at all time.
Exclusively we have a few liters of Nismo Differential oil, 2189E. Very hard to find in Europe.
We also have a HKS stainless midpipe in stock. Pair that with a COBB Accessport and you get a completely new feeling when you drive the car. It not only sounds better but it goes better as well. If you need some work done or just want to buy some parts, get in touch.
Mr. R is one of those guys that drive their cars a lot. And he´s not only doing road miles. He recently took it to the drag strip and drove a 10.77s/208km/h. Not too bad for a daily drive. Tomorrow he´s joining the pre-party in the town of Karslkrona for the warmup to GT Polonia. To make the car ready for the event, we´ve upgraded the gearbox with the usual upgrades including circlips, oil, magnets and also new clutches. Everything from Dodson Motorsport. We also installed a trans brace from Willall Racing so the transmission will hold up when Mr. R takes the car to the drag strip.
To show which companies that sponsor him, Mr. R got some new stickers on the car, beside the matt black wrap that was done before. Below is a pic that show what the car looks like now. Watch out for more pics of this car on different car forums in the coming weeks since Mr. R is going on a European trip after GT Polonia.
As we wrote in our previous post, the gearbox was upgraded on Mr. K´s GT-R. Here are a few pictures of what was installed and also of some other things we´ve done. The first pic shows the gearbox parts we installed. Clutch pack, circlips, gear lock, pan filter kit and oil pump upgrade. What´s not shown is the oil we filled it with. The next pic shows the drain plug of the front differential. We´ve cleaned half of it so you can see just how much dirt the magnet has picked up. If you´re tracking your car, we recommend changing the diff oil sooner than Nissan recommends. The last pic shows the magnet in the oil pan. Again, we´ve cleaned half of it so you get an idea of how much dirt is collected by the magnet and how important it is to use more magnets in the oil pan, not less.
If you want some work done to your car, just get in touch.
Mr. K is a long time customer of ours. We upgraded the gearbox in his 2009 GT-R he had before. Now he´s got a 2011 GT-R and he wants some more power. We´ll install a Switzer P800 package, just like the one we have on the democar. To make sure it can handle all the power and torque we´re also upgrading the rods and pistons. Just in case Mr. K wants more power later on… When doing this kind of build we always recommend that the gearbox is upgraded as well. That has already been done with a tougher clutch pack along with our usual upgrades for the gearbox from Dodson Motorsport. Stay tuned for more updates. Here are two pics of the car before the modifications started.
Willall Racing oil
Willall Racing circlips
Willall Racing clutch clips
Dodson Motorsport oil pump upgrade kit
AP Racing J.-hook front brake discs
Performance Friction pads front and rear
Motul RBF600 brake fluid
Willall Racing water cooling for the front brakes
Mr U´s car will be a regular on this page over the coming months and years. He´s approach is totally different to almost every other customer we have. He´s decided to build from the ground up before doing any major power upgrade. He started this by strengthening the gearbox. We replaced first gear and did the usual upgrades like circlips, oil and such. He also decided that he wanted more downforce at the front so we installed the Willall Racing splitter. After a service and some new intake pipes he´s good to go for now. Check back later for more news on this car. Here´s what it looks like at the moment.
Mr P had some cracks in his brake discs plus his pads were worn so he stopped by the shop last week. We fitted AP Racing J-hook grooved discs instead of the cracked drilled OEM ones. He also got a set of Carbonetic brake pads to get better stopping power than before. While we were at it, we installed a COBB Accessport to give him some more power. The text message from him after leaving the shop sums it up: “Haha, it´s a completely different car! Thanks!” We´d like to thank you Mr. P and you´re always welcome back!
If you also want some better brakes or maybe some more power, get in touch. Here are some pictures of the new parts we fitted.
Here are some shots from the Open House we held yesterday. We had some parts on display, both from our own stock and also from our suppliers Ohlins, Akrapovic and Performance Friction Brakes. Ohlins showed the first production units of their new Road & Track dampers for GT-R, which was a world premiere. Two gearboxes were on display so we could show customers the problems and solutions we offer. During the day we performed different work on some customer cars. We installed Alcon 400mm brakes, COBB Accessports, replaced a damaged oil pan and did some oil changes among other work. When it was done we served some burgers, hot dogs and cold drinks.
We´d like to thank all of our customers and suppliers that joined us on this day.
Yes, even before we´ve held the event, our Open House is a success! At the moment we have 18 cars that will participate, making this the biggest GT-R meet in Scandinavia by far! Our customers are coming all the way from Luleå in the north of Sweden down to Trelleborg in the far south. We´re really happy that so many will show up, even though many of our long time customers can´t make it.
Two companies will show their products during the day. First is Öhlins who will show the prototypes for their Road & Track coilovers for GT-R that they will start producing this summer.
Secondly it´s PEAN Sweden that will show brake upgrades and Akrapovic exhaust systems.
If you want to join the fun on Saturday, drop us a mail and tell us you´re coming.
You know how the saying goes: Better late than never. Well, we finally set up a Facebook page so now you can see even more pictures of different projects we´ve done. So head on over to www.facebook.com/23GTR.se and like us. You will see pictures on Saturday May 12th from our Open House before anywhere else among many other things.

Mr R picked up his brand new 2011 GT-R just a couple of weeks ago. He´s already covered over 6000kms in it and enjoyed every minute. Now he´s at 23GTR.se to get a better sound in the car. He choose to have a HKS Legamax midpipe and catback installed. With the midpipe without silencer, the car now sounds as it should have from the factory. Mr R is very happy and so are we. If you want a new exhaust on your car, don´t hesitate to get in touch. Below is what it looked like on a very rainy day.
We welcome all customers to our open house on Saturday May 12th! No matter if you´re a long time customer or have never been here, you´re all welcome. We´ll have a special price on oil change during the day. So if you want to get your GT-R ready for spring, now is an excellent time to get it done. Get in touch with us if you want some work done during the day. We open at 11.00 and close the workshop at 15.00 for work. After that we fire up the BBQ and serve some burgers and hot dogs. If you need somewhere to stay the night, get in touch and we´ll point you to a nice place nearby. Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of what it looked like earlier this week. Busy as always during spring time.
Yes, Mr. K is back for more upgrades. Since he did 15 trackdays last year, the front brake discs couldn´t take it any more. The OEM discs are prone to crack so we replaced them with some 400mm Alcon discs instead. We replaced the brake pads before so now Mr. K should be able to cut his lap times a bit. While the car was here we also installed some carbon goodies from Zele Performance. The sideskirts, fender vents and bonnet scoops were replaced. It really looks good with the blue colour of the car. As usual, if you want something done, get in touch.
Mr M is a long time customer of 23GTR.se. This time he wanted to make the car even faster on track. Therefore we´ve replaced the swaybars, the front upper suspension arms and added some more power. We swapped out the OEM downpipes and midpipe to free up some flow for the tune. We choose a HKS Legamax resonated midpipe to still keep the noise level in check. Interior wise we installed a carbon bucket seat and Takata 4 point harnesses for both the driver and passenger. Mr M also wanted to upgrade the looks of the car so we installed a set of Zele sideskirts. After a service and a tune he´s ready to hit the tracks, beginning at the Nurburgring in April. Below are some pics of the Whiteline swaybars, the Dodson Motorsport front upper arms and some of the other parts we installed. If you want some work done to your GT-R, get in touch.
Mr. S is a long time customer of ours. We´ve done a lot of work on his car, but this time he wanted us to install front and rear cameras. So, yesterday we did just that and below you can see some pics of what the kit looks like, what the images on the MFD and the installation looks like. The first pic that shows the view is of the rear camera and the second is of the front. If you want cameras on your car, drop us a mail and we´ll hook you up.
As most GT-R owners are aware by now, the gearbox is the weakest link in the car. And as you´ve seen before, we´ve done a lot of different work on these boxes by now. Here are a few more examples of the problems we´ve seen, and the solutions we´ve used.
The first pic shows a broken synchro ring on the left, a fully working OEM ring in the middle and an upgraded one from Dodson Motorsport on the right. What you need to look for on the left one are the missing stop teeth. That´s the weak part on these rings and you can also see the difference in design on the Dodson ring.
The next three pictures show what it looks like when a circlip comes loose. You can see the damaged shaft, the amount of metal debris on the magnets and the loose circlip that was found in the box. This is not uncommon so we highly recommend replacing the circlips if you do any gearbox work. We recommend it even if you´re not running high power in your GT-R. These failures were on cars that ran maximum stage 1 tuning.
